I was born in Montgomery, AL, and grew up there until moving to Birmingham at the age of 23. I was lost, hopeless, and directionless until finding the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous at 25. It was a long period of growth before I started experiencing the spiritual awakening so many had had before me.
Today, AA is the lens through which I see and live my life and has given me so much both internally and externally that I could never begin to return its blessing. I am involved in all three parts of the AA Circle Triangle and have a connection with God that I had never experienced before sobriety. I started working in the addiction recovery field two years ago at a reputable sober living facility and served as the Program Manager before coming back to Birmingham to join Impact Recovery Center.
Coincidentally, AA has helped me find my career path, and I will continue helping addicts and alcoholics for the rest of my life, both through AA sponsorship and in my occupation with Impact. Outside of work and recovery, I love to play guitar and write songs, it’s been my passion since the age of 12. In closing, I am grateful to be working here and will do my best to help Impact grow along with the rest of the team for years to come.
